IRI WELCOMES INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS FROM P.U.P - Santo Tomas

Once again, IRI opened its doors, this time to Industrial Engineering students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) - Santo Tomas, Batangas last February 4, 2009. The students, who are at the same time members of the Junior Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (JPIIE), were led by their adviser, Engr. Romeo Ilagan. The plant tour is in connection with their subject “Field Trips and Seminars”.

During the course of the tour, the students were given lectures on ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems - wherein IRI is a proud compliant, and were likewise introduced to the company’s Inventory Management System (IMS) – a system being used daily for the purpose of managing company assets and organizing all incoming and outgoing materials.

After the lectures, the students were toured around the plant where they further learned the different recycling methods being practiced religiously by the company.
